Altamirano’s life has been marked by duality, as often seen in his art. He was born in Chicago on November 1977 and when he was one year old his parents moved to the sun loving, multicultural city of Anaheim, California, where he spent the first years of his life. From those formative years, he learned the values of helping people and being attentive to others, and very much enjoyed the communal type of environment his parents setup at home.

He attended Fullerton University between 2002 and 2005 where he obtained two degrees: International Business and Corporate Finance. At the time, he wanted to become a trader and work for an investment bank. After his studies, the artist started to work for a small startup company as an analyst and traded stocks independently. He collaborated for a few years in a company he helped build in California and then he decided to move in 2007 to a city which was a bit different from Anaheim: Spokane, Washington.

The beauty of the city, its nature and wildlife captured the artist. He felt a new sense of freedom and independence. He started to dig deeply in his natural curiosity, took Sumi-e classes, started playing the "djembe" (a traditional instrument from West Africa), and competed in long distance runs and triathlons, all of this while presiding in a leadership role as VP of a financial company. This was a crucial moment in his life and also a moment of self-discovery as he started to meditate, which helped him explore the subconscious and the emotions, often sources of inspiration in his paintings. Between 2010 and 2012, Altamirano continued working as a currency trader while persisting in exploring his artistic side, until somewhere in 2013 he realized that creating art was more fulfilling to him than trading, so he decided to give up a promising career in trading to live for his passion.

In 2014, the artist changed his placid and relaxed lifestyle in Spokane and moved to the frenetic, exhilarating and bustling city of New York. He is currently a member of the Art Students League of New York, where he also works as a monitor, a very prestigious position within the school. He is responsible for setting up the art studio with the specifications provided by the professors, such as lighting effects, background profiles and models, among other tasks. Being a monitor has given the artist an exclusive chance to work closely with professors that are highly known in the art community, also to become their apprentice and showcase their work in special events.

Very conscious of the importance of social media, the artist also shares some of his most powerful paintings on the Internet. He has been fully dedicated to his art and had painted over 30 canvases, among them "Transcendent", "Le Rêve", "Enchantor" and "Inflation" which have been showcased in many prestigious galleries in the tri-state area.
